: Police busted a big racket in manufacturing and peddling of fake currency notes when they arrested the kingpin and his four accomplices at Raghunathpur

district on Sunday. A policeman came across one, Devdutta Ram, peddling some fake currency notes at a cattle mart at Raghunathpur under Bhargama police station late Saturday evening.
The peddler was hauled up and taken to the police station the same evening, police said. On being grilled by the policemen, Ram did not only crack, but also spilled beans on his nefarious activities. The clues revealed by Ram led to a series of raids in a cyber café and the house of the fake currency note manufacturers the next day, police said.
Police arrested the kingpin, Amit Mishra and his accomplices Vivek Mishra, Rudo Yadav and Bhushan Yadav. The police also seized a computer, printing machine, stamp papers and also wads of counterfeit notes manufactured by them worth several thousands, police said.
The fake currecy notes were in the denomination of Rs 100, Rs 50 and Rs 20 mostly in the denomination of Rs 100, Bhargama SHO Anmol Kumar said. The racketeers hailed from Forbesganj sub-division and neighbouring Supaul district, the SHO said. The fake currency racketeers have a wide network spread over not only parts of Bihar but also Nepal, police said.
Forbesganj SDPO Raj Kumar Sah on Monday said the fake currency racketeers were carrying on their nefarious activities for quite sometime. More such facts are likely to emerge during interrogation, he added.
